Percy Maleta, the Executive director of Maleta Gems and Jewels and PL Treasurers Limited is a seasonal gemstone self-taught expert with nearly 20 years in the industry. Since founding the companies in 2009 and 2023 respectively, he has played a key role in sourcing ethically mined gemstones and working closely with small-scale miners, dealers and mining cooperatives in Malawi. Percy is a trained gem cutter and marketer, has extensive experience in gemstones, value addition and global trade. He has networked widely, exhibited gemstones in Africa, Asia, Europe, and America. He has held leadership roles in the mining sector in Malawi, demonstrating his commitment to the industry
